| by District Governor, Diana Kovac |
I know we just celebrated the 4th of July, but for
Toastmasters July 1 marks our New Year, so Happy
New Year! I am proud to start this year as District 22
Governor and I look forward to working together as
we, “Change the World, One Toastmaster at a Time.”
Here is a little information about me. Many years ago, in Kansas City, Missouri, I was born. Okay, okay, since we do not have time for the long version, I’ll condense it. Ed and I have a grown daughter and son and a wonderful 4-year-old grandson who brings soooo much joy to our lives. I joined AgMasters Toastmasters Club 10 years ago. Now, I am also a member of the Masters Club and Toastmasters Unlimited. I sincerely hope you enjoy your toastmasters clubs as much as I do mine. Now let’s talk about YOU! Congratulations to all of you who completed the goals you set for yourselves last year. You should be proud! If you did not quite finish your goal now is the perfect time! Here we are starting the new year and you know what that means. Sure you do, it means it’s the perfect time to set new goals for the coming year. Where do you want to be this time next year, are you going for the GOLD? As Stephen Covey says, “Begin with the end in mind.” If you are not sure what your next educational goal is, ask your VP of Education and put an action plan in place. Once you’ve earned the Competent Communicator you’re all set to proceed to the Advanced Communicator manuals and go for the Gold! So, don’t waste another minute. Get Ready, Set Goals, Go Now and Have a Happy New Year!! |

| On behalf of current District Governor, Diana Kovac, By Jack Mackey |
We owe our Independence Day to the leaders of the
American Revolution, who rallied the colonists
towards a better future. In all times and in all
places, that’s what leaders do. They rally a group of
people toward a better future.
The leaders of the American Revolution were able to enroll huge numbers of colonists in their cause. That’s why they succeeded and we have a United States. They achieved critical mass. Huge numbers! Face it. The clearest indicator of your success as a club leader is the number of members you can attract and retain. Achieve your membership goals by September and you can be Distinguished by December. It’s simple. Design your plan to achieve 5 of the 10 goals by December. Enroll your current members in achieving the Distinguished Club Plan and post the plan at every meeting. (See the Club Success Plan and the DCP Planner at http://www.toastmasters22.org under Tips/Tools.) These Tips/Tools are all great but the power to make things happen starts with your passion to grow the club and leave it better than you found it. Rally your people toward a better future. Members by September and Distinguished by December. That’s a dream with a deadline! To start the year off right, finish your club’s Distinguished Club Plan now. |

You can’t help but notice those impressive red, white
and blue ribbons that the District leaders wear on
their badges. You can earn them, too.
Here’s How: The white ribbon represents you as a member of the Loyalty Team. Mentoring a new member qualifies you for this one. The blue one is for the New Club Team, the X-Team. Let your Area Governor know that you want to be a part of this team, by volunteering to participate in a demo meeting or take some other part in starting a new Club. This recognition is available to all members who qualify. Let your Club President and Vice President – Education know when you have earned a ribbon and they will let the Area Governor know so that it can be presented to you. Let’s see a lot more of the red, white, and blue! |

First, I would like to thank last year’s Bulletin Editor
for all her contributions. Thank you Larna Anderson
Beebe. Her advice to me to make this Public Relations
role my own assisted me greatly. I want to welcome
all the new officers and especially my bulletin editor,
Tara Patty. My advice to all officers and members is
to make this role you have your own. Put your mark
on it. Make the most of your time with the club and
in your speeches. Enjoy the process. Tell others
about what you are doing. Your enthusiasm is
contagious. Let’s start off this year with a bang.

Since I joined Toastmasters in January 2006,
Toastmasters has helped me over come some of the
fears of speaking before large groups. I took a step
out of my comfort zone by addressing my city
council. I used the lesson of persuasion and
accomplished the goal of getting them to take
action. I have personally witnessed the benefits of
Toastmasters. I’ll continue my Toastmasters training
and increase the size of my comfort.
