Stay Strong!

Now, more than ever, people want and need to improve their communications, networking, and leadership skills.  This is the time to get the word out with a Press Release about your club.  Look at TI's website for a fantastic "fill-in-the-blanks" example you can use.

The season's next membership campaign is the Talk Up Toastmasters Challenge.  Every club that adds five new, dual, or reinstated members during February and March will receive a Talk Up Toastmasters award ribbon from Ti to display on their club's banner.  They will also receive a special discount code for 10% off their next club order.

If your club isn't already doing so, I urge you to start a membership contest now! There are a number of advantages to running a membership contest in your club during the Talk Up Toastmasters campaign:

1.    Increased involvement in your club

  • More members means more diversity in speeches and evaluations
  • Members running or helping with the contest can use the CL Manual for support and earn credit for the appropriate project
  • Additional speech ideas for your members (i.e. “What I learned from our membership contest” or “How to run a successful membership campaign”)
  • More members can also mean less double duty for meeting roles

2.     For Membership VPs, it's never too early to build your membership team to really make your year as VP a success!

As we enter Spring, think about March membership renewalstalk to those two or three members that dropped out during the summer due to conflictng activities. Remind them of the advantages of continued membership, and get them back on board!
