District 22 Governor

Every Toastmaster in District 22 has one thing in common.  By initially signing the Application for Membership for Toastmasters, each of us said we would keep the Toastmasters Promise printed on the back of the application – right below the line for our signature.  Our theme this year is “Keeping the Promise”.  If each of us tries our hardest to keep the ten points of that promise, we will all reach our goals as Toastmasters this year.  Our clubs, areas, divisions, and even the District itself will also.

We are also promoting “Destination Distinguished – May 1st 2011” to encourage all clubs and Toastmasters to set that date as the target date for accomplishing their goals.  There will also be emphasis on clubs earning a “Founders” Ribbon for their banner.

If we all practice “Keeping the Promise”, we will all become not just better Toastmasters, but better individuals also.  I know I will be doing it – will you join me?

This year we want to recognize every club that reaches the goal of being Distinguished. Doing so will ensure that each club meets their basic goal of serving their members needs. Member accomplishments are just as important and will also be recognized because that helps their club reach its goal. To help each Toastmaster get the most out of their Toastmaster experience, we are also encouraging them to participate in District activities.
