To receive Distinguished Club Program (DCP) credit for attending winter club officer training, at least four officers from your club must be trained during the period from December 1, 2011 through February 29, 2012.

For club officers who were unable to attend any of the scheduled Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI) sessions throughout the district, there will be a limited number of make-up sessions available between now and February 29.

Three make-up sessions have been scheduled in the Kansas City metro area:

  • Wednesday, February 15 – Highpointe Financial, 9401 W. Indian Creek Parkway, Overland Park, KS, 5:30 – 8:00 p.m.
  • Friday, February 24 and Tuesday, February 28 – Compass Minerals, 9900 W. 109th Street, Overland Park, KS, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Contact April Hendrickson for more information and if you’re planning to attend, so you can get on the visitor access list.
  • Saturday, February 25 – St. Pius X School, 5500 Woodson Road, Shawnee Mission, KS, 8:30 – 10:00 a.m. (immediately before the Super Saturday presentation)

Check back here frequently. This post will be updated as information becomes available on other make-up sessions.

  • What brought you to Toastmasters?
  • What do you like about it?
  • What keeps you around?

When you answer the questions above, you have the heart of how you sell Toastmasters to your guests and friends. You sell as you tell your story. If it is true for you and it moves you, you will move your prospective members with your story.

We may complicate selling Toastmasters. Your learning and growth means something to you. When you tell your success in Toastmasters and how some part of your life has changed, you will move people and bring them to your club. Keep it simple and close to your heart. Acknowledge your growth and tell people about what you’ve learned. You will both win as you speak your truth.
