Being A District Governor: What's in it for Me?
Be an District Governor!
Have you:
- Served at least six months as a club President
- Served at least twelve months as a Division Governor or a Lt. Governor
Are you a leader? Can you inspire others to set high standards for themselves? Do you know how to help others reach goals higher than they believed possible? Can you run a three-ring circus?
If so, consider becoming a District Governor to further develop your leadership skills.
What Does a District Governor Do?
A District Governor serves for a full Toastmasters Year (July 1 through June 30th) to QQQQQQQQQQQQ. This includes:
- Uphold Toastmasters International bylaws and policies
- Promote the Toastmasters International educational program
- Responsible to the Toastmasters International Board of Directors
- Submit to the Board of Directors all required reports
- Report to, and take direction from, the District Council for district organization, programs and procedures
- Uphold and promote to the district the purposes of Toastmasters International
- Preside at all meetings of both the District Council and District Executive Committee
- Fill appointive offices as provided in the district administrative bylaws
- Provide to the district clubs the budget of the district, the audit report, and any other necessary reports
- Participate in the semi-annual leadership training provided at the regional conferences
- Attend the International Convention in August
